There is an emerging line of thought that there's great benefit being physically connected to the earth. Digging deeper, it's suggested that there's physiological and psychological benefit from the transfer of electrons and electrical fields from the earth below directly our bodies - best accomplished when barefoot or lying unclothed on the ground. Think about it: Throughout the evolutionary process and much of history, humans walked barefoot (or with natural hide moccasins) and slept on the ground allowing the earth's healing energy to flow freely into them. Unfortunately, the modern lifestyle limits this connection with the earth - we use shoes with rubber or plastic soled shoes that act as insulators rather than transmitters and we no longer sleep directly on the ground; wood, carpet and other flooring options also act as insulators. All of these modern developments have left us disconnected from this natural energy source..
In the real world, we know that barefoot isn't always practical (or even permitted) and the next best method of transmission is via leather-soled shoes. Soft-soled moccasins, made entirely of leather without rubber or plastic soles (or insoles), are the footwear of choice for followers of the Earthing Movement. To be clear, leather itself isn't conductive - but the electrical energy of the earth is allowed to pass due to two moisture-related features: The foot perspires and the moisture allows the conduction of energy; also, if the ground is wet, the soft leather soles can allow dampness from the ground to permeate the leather to bring energy up to the wearer. Clearly, moccasins are much better than standard shoes which insulate rather than transmit energy.
Earthing Movement followers believe there's evidence to suggest that being connected to the earth brings significant benefit to the circulatory and immune systems, along with a decrease in inflammation. People who following the Earthing techniques report synchronization of biorhythms, better sleep and increased energy. With those potential benefits, we're proud to say that we can make any of our moccasins without our traditional foam pad insole and rubber outsole to allow the best connection with the ground possible. In place of our standard foam insole, we will substitute another layer of natural hide which will offer comfort and protection. We can modify both single- and double-soled moccasins. Best of all, there is no extra charge for this service. Just do not select crepe in the check out process.
email me if you are interested. I'd be happy to make you a leather only pair of moccasins. email@example.com
